Who We Are
Namisindwa Onion Growers Community Based Organization (NOGCBO) was formed by farmers who experienced challenges such as counterfeit seeds, unreliable markets, lack of extension services, and exploitation by fraudulent buyers. Determined to solve these problems, members united to create a structured organization to advocate for their needs.
NOGCBO brings together farmers from across Namisindwa District, including Bubutu Subcounty, Busamo Village, and surrounding communities.
Vision
To be example in the onion production, to foster knowledge for self-reliance.

To reduce on poverty level.
Goal
To minimize the poverty level in our community.
Our Objectives
Secure reliable markets for onions and related products
Improve farmer incomes and livelihoods
Support vulnerable groups such as PWDs, orphans, and school dropouts
Eliminate counterfeit agricultural inputs
Promote community-based training and capacity building
Encourage environmental protection and voluntary community work
Our Story
In September 2025, farmers convened at the district headquarters to discuss common barriers in onion production. With guidance from local leaders, including Hon. Simiyu James Kuloba, the farmers resolved to form a community-based organization to jointly pursue solutions.
Through teamwork, accountability, and shared purpose, the organization continues to grow and impact lives.
